Company History
Mount Vernon Engineering Co (Glgw.) Ltd was founded in 1974 by shareholders and directors John Graham and Ronnie Mason in small workshop in Mount Vernon, in the East End of Glasgow. The directors both came from an engineering background, specialising in the mining industry. The company expanded over the next 13 years until the business had outgrown this site and the company moved to a 12,000 sq ft factory in Rutherglen, Glasgow in 1987. The company continued to expand and evolve while enhancing its reputation within the many fields of engineering it provided products to. In 1996 John Graham became the sole shareholder and the company at present is still in the ownership of John and his family. The reputation the company has built over the years is important to John and, although now retired, still has an influence in ensuring this is maintained. The company has relocated, once again, in 2007 to our current location in Hamilton, just outside Glasgow. The present workshop is a 22,000 sq ft factory that was extensively adapted to suit the company’s current and future requirements. |
